The concept for the RF Lounge was born out of a desire to provide an environment where lesbians with that certain “Je ne sais quoi” could share in an equally stimulating and exciting space to mingle and relax.
For years New York City lacked that and the question we constantly asked ourselves was what could we do about it. That has finally been delivered to the women of NYC in the form of the RF Lounge.
RF Lounge was built on the landmark location that was once home to a pioneer lesbian bar, Ruby Fruit Bar & Grill. The space has since been completed remodeled with great lighting and sound equipment.
Women can now experience a funky vibe and edgy tunes from both resident and guest DJ’s while sipping specialty cocktails served by sexy bartenders.
RF Lounge is committed to supporting the LGBT community by hiring LGBT staff and promoting LGBT charities and events. The quality of our wines, champagne, cocktails and spirit drinks quench any discriminating palate. Our special events are gauged to entice professional women and provide them with an alternative to the typical bar scene, allowing them to meet like-minded lesbians.
RF means “Real Friends” because the bar was created for the Lesbian community, to allow them to come together in a warm, welcoming and friendly space. RF Lounge pays homage to the many Real Friends who have shared in the journey to create it and its mission is to provide a chic and relaxing atmosphere where everyone can feel at home amongst Real Friends.
